I am the second owner of the truck. I have done every maintenance myself, oil changes done every 3k/3 month religiously.
At 87k i recently did a ton of required maintenance
-water pump
-gates timing belt (gates makes the oem nissan belts and i also have one on my other xterra)
-replaced the heater hoses from the firewall to intake manifold and lower intake,( main hoses and the small hoses that are a pain to disconnect from the intake manifold)
-replaced a bypass heater hose that tends to leak
-thermostat
-valve cover gaskets
-camshaft seals
-front main seal
-replaced pw, ac, alternator serpentine belts
-oil pan gasket(lots of fun doing this one)
-new spark plugs
-Distributor as well as the cap and rotor
I was so deep doing the timing belt and gaskets that I was considering doing the head gaskets but i did a leak down test before i changed the distributor and every cylinder was at 15% so the head gaskets are healthy aswell as the piston rings and valves.
this truck is ready to go and runs strong
